Pigmentation concerns are a growing, global issue; they affect more than 90% of adults over the age of 50. Regardless of skin color, they are a significant issue because of their unattractive appearance and negative psychological and emotional impact, affecting quality of life. Skin hyperpigmentation is caused by abnormal production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color, and is a consequence of uncontrolled, localized overproduction of melanin by the melanocytes, causing irregular skin coloration and dark spots.
Depigmentation and regulation
cosmelan® is a depigmentation method that has an intensive corrective action on skin hyperpigmentations, while at the same time regulating the overproduction of melanin in the melanocytes, slowing down and controlling new dark spots. It has a dual corrective and controlling action, which achieves short and long term results by controlling hyperpigmentation.
Cosmelan 2 cream helps to prevent the appearance of new spots. Supplemented with Hydra Vital factor K and moisturizing sun protection SPF50 +, the care and prevention of stains is solved in a unique and integral way.
It is recommended to implement the "cosmelan method protocol" with Cosmelan 2 in order to obtain or maintain the desired depigmentation result:
Cosmelan 2 is applied to clean, dry skin by a gentle massage, following the instructions of the "cosmelan method protocol". This protocol provides the following steps:
1 | Reducing hyperpigmentation through continuous depigmentation: A daily routine to regulate overproduction of melanin in the melanocyte. Apply cosmelan 2 three times a day (morning, afternoon and evening), followed by Melan Recovery and moisturizing sun protection SPF 50+ throughout the day.
2 | Controlling and maintaining hyperpigmentation: Treating overproduction of melanin through constant regulation of the melanocyte. This regulates both intra- and intercellular melanin production and prevents repigmentation. Apply cosmelan 2 in the morning and in the evening, followed by Melan Recovery and moisturizing sun protection SPF 50+ throughout the day. In case of sun exposure, reapply UV protection in the afternoon.
3 | Avoiding pigmentation or preventing new, re-pigmentation: the tendency to develop dark spots is an ongoing risk. During this control phase, the reappearance of the treated stains and the formation of new stains is prevented, extending the previously obtained results for longer. Only apply cosmelan 2 in the evening, followed by Melan Recovery. Apply a moisturizing sunscreen SPF 50+ during the day and reapply in case of direct sun exposure.
We recommend that you always use the sunscreen as a permanent cosmetic treatment against hyperpigmentation. With pigmentation, prevention is still much easier and cheaper than treatment.
